The only exception was his two years National Service in the Army, when he became a Radar operator and instructor in the Royal Artillery with the rank of Bombardier and thirty years later when he was then went into management for 12 years. The last ten years of his working life were spent as a self-employed carpenter working once more in people’s homes.
As with so many people in retirement, Tom is busier than ever. Now, his time is spent on the study of music, [Piano and saxophone] Painting, writing and performing his poetry for various groups.
Tom is quite happy to undertake readings of his poems, to groups within a thirty mile radius of Rhondda.
